Bryan Eckhard
“A mental health diagnosis is no different than a physical health diagnosis…”
Bryan Eckhard MSN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC is the founder and CEO of Great Plains Mental Health Partners Inc. He served in the Navy during the Gulf War and began his medical training through the Navy Corpsmen A-School. He then continued his training in the civilian sector by obtaining his nursing degree with the help of the GI Bill and went on to pursue his advanced degrees in Family Practice (FNP-C) and Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP-BC). He saw a need for more specialized mental health treatment of patients while working in Family Practice. “These people needed better access to care and more time than a rushed ten-minute Urgent Care appointment could provide." He felt that the stigma associated with these conditions was unwarranted. “A mental health diagnosis is no different than a physical health diagnosis – like Diabetes or High Blood Pressure. Either one needs to be medically managed to optimize overall health and wellness.”

Elizabeth Kirt
“Taking Mental Health to remote areas”
Elizabeth Kirt MSN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC: Liz’s journey into nursing was sparked by a desire to make a positive difference in people's lives, aiming to bring a little brightness to their day. Starting as an RN, she transitioned to become a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) after her studies at the University of Colorado. However, her path took a turn when she encountered Lyme disease and toxic mold exposure, compelling her to focus on treating these illnesses after completing her program. Liz recognized a crucial gap in Mental Health Services within this demographic while aiding patients grappling with chronic illnesses. This realization led her to pursue a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) Post-Master’s Certificate at Johns Hopkins University. Now, dedicated to supporting patients in their mental health journeys, Liz takes pride in her ability to accept insurance for Mental Health Services, ensuring comprehensive care for those in need and reaching people in remote areas through the use of tele-health.

Amanda Hrycaj
“Working collaboratively with patients…”
Amanda Hrycaj (her-sigh) FNP-C, AGACNP-BC, PMHNP-BC is a triple board-certified nurse practitioner. She has worked in healthcare throughout Northeastern Colorado since 2010. During that time, she has worked in various healthcare settings including Long-term Care, Department of Corrections, Inpatient Care, the Emergency Department, Public Health Department, and Primary Care. Amanda noticed that in every healthcare setting, there was a consistent shortage in Mental Health Services which inspired her to return to school for more education in mental health treatment to further serve the rural Colorado community. “I am very passionate about Mental Health. I grew up in rural Colorado and have an understanding of the unique needs of this community. I enjoy working collaboratively with my patients on their mental health goals. I am excited to work with Great Plains Mental Health Partners Inc to provide these much-needed services.”
